CC Book Club: Let My People Go Surfing
Spring is quickly approaching but the temperature outside will say otherwise. More than ever, schedule some time with a good book. You won’t regret it. Here’s a book worth your time:
Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman
Let My People Go Surfing is an extraordinary book. It’s certainly not your traditional business memoir. Rather it’s an intimate reflection with an industry legend, Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia.
Yvon never wanted to be a businessman. His adventures in the mountains of Wyoming and waves of California led him to this path. He saw a need for quality goods, that were made to last, in a world that seemingly favored vicious consumerism.
The most important lessons from this book are those undefined. The latter part of this book focuses on the philosophies and values of Patagonia. After reading, it has the ability to queue thoughts about our own lives and taking action. It reaffirms that we can make choices that create positive change. It all begins with the individual. A single spark lights the fire.
Happy reading,
Christopher
